Qwix Warehouse™
What makes Qwix Warehouse™ exclusive:
Flexibility is the key feature of Qwix , bringing with it ease of use and reduced training time.
Qwix was built from an operational perspective . Typically warehouse solutions are built on the same principles as an ERP system bearing accounting and finance strongly in mind, and not operations on the warehouse floor. One of Qwix main objectives was to create an operationally functional product on the warehouse floor with easy to use functionality for the warehouse operators.
Reducing cost of ownership was a key aspect. During our surveys and investigations cost of ownership was mentioned frequently. We carried out surveys amongst warehouses, and consulted warehouse and distribution experts across a variety of industries to establish how Qwix must develop as a truly operational tool and not a software product built on top of ERP.
Common areas where Qwix Warehouse™ is used and adds value:

• Receiving

• Picking

• Dispatch

• Return

• Warehouse Movements

• Stock Accuracy

Warehouse operations
The warehouse operation consists of receiving, storing, picking, dispatch , returns, stock movements and stock takes. Most warehouses have existing systems as a foundation of stock control and stock movement control by means of paper based control.
There is a substantial difference between recording data using paper based control where required and automating the warehouse operations from an existing paper-based system typically plagued with problems associated with a manual or semi-manual system. Problems experienced include hand-keyed data entry errors, untimely updating of ERP movement transactions from production to distribution, inventory control, receiving, order picking verification and stock counting.
Automating processes converts a traditional paper-based system to a fully integrated real-time electronic system incorporating the use of business rules, operational rules and instructions which are visible on the hand held scanner to operational staff. This eliminates the need for warehouse staff to make decisions and removes all paperwork based systems including the need to recapture any information or write anything down on paper.
